WHO ARE WE?

 

The leader of the Ministry is Pastor Eliana G.O. Almeida, who has been consecrated to the pastoral ministry since 1976. Since she was 10, Pastor Almeida has fulfilled her specific calling of evangelization and the establishing of churches. Pastor Almeida is also a writer, a Pastor’s Pastor and counselor of evangelical leaders. She is also an international speaker and serves as an instructor of Christian Women.

 

In 2009, the ministry had its 20th anniversary, always acting as a Connection Point: Connecting blessings with resources; blessings that supplied ministries and blessings that have helped people in different type of spiritual and material through donations, counseling, prayers and the teaching of the Word of God.

 

MISSION

 

To live the true Gospel, preaching Christ, strengthening people; being a connection point between the Gospel and Society encouraging it to exercise true Citizenship, promoting stimuli for the growth of the human being both collectively and individually as well as seeking a profound change in their attitudes and values in such a way to cause their ideals of life to become reality.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

 

Ensure that needy children and their families may receive the kind of assistance that goes beyond the biological, psychological, social and educational factors, to wit, the SPIRITUAL. 

Act upon different spheres as a Connection Point to support the diverse needs of the disenfranchised communities.

Encourage the involvement and participation of organizations and individuals in their programs of community aid and health, as well as education and sports involving them socially and spiritually with their communities. 
- Devise and promote humanitarian actions so as to benefit peoples and communities, without distinction to race, color or creed, in order to integrate the human being in its three dimensions: spirit/soul/body. 

 

THE BEGINNING OF THE ISLAND OF THE RAT

 

In January 2006, in the Island of the Rat a work was started beginning with a vision given by God to four pastors in different places, who were moved by the same desire: to reach souls for Christ. Since then, others became involved in this ministry, always under the Holy Spirit’s direction, Who was the one starting to line up the characteristics of this work. 

 

During those days, God spoke of the need of a suffering, abandoned and rejected people that had to be loved and remembered, as they were also HIS people. God said that the work should start with the children, so that, by the knowledge of His Word, the Bible, they would be prepared since their youngest age to be His People. God also spoke that, contrary to the majority of men’s entities, He would not forget this people, popularly known as the Island of the Rat, whose location was also given in the vision. 

 

Immediately following, in obedience the Lord’s vision, we founded the Igreja Cristã Evangélica na Ilha do Rato and the apostles Dalila Santa Rosa Galvão de Oliveira and Ary Athayde de Oliveira moved to live in the neighboring city  - Pirambú – aiming to give support to the work in the Island. After only a short while, they also established a Igreja Cristã Evangélica também in  Pirambú.
